Introducing the Grounded Confidence Framework!
It's finally here! I've been talking about grounded confidence for years and now there's an official, real-life framework for it!
There's a reason I keep talking about grounded confidence - it's exactly what people need.
The world often feels like a pretty UNgrounded place. People are being asked to do more with less. Uncertainty is all over the place. Everything feels urgent, but somehow the most important work isn't getting done.
This isn't just an external experience - people feel ungrounded on the inside as well. Unsteady. Overwhelmed. Like they're on a hamster wheel just trying to get to the next thing on their to-do list.
It’s not a recipe for success. Or effective leadership, healthy teams, innovation, or courageous communication.
Organizations are feeling the impact everywhere, from burnout and disengagement to avoiding tough talks and sharing new ideas.
The answer? Grounded confidence.
Grounded confidence is a new kind of confidence.
It's not about bravado or arrogance. It's not about putting on a show or puffing yourself up to prove your worth. It's also not about downplaying your strengths or making yourself smaller than you are.
Instead, it's the kind of confidence that cuts through the noise. It's the kind of confidence that steady, even when expectations are high, change is constant, and the pressure never seems to stop.
Grounded confidence helps leaders have the hard conversations sooner rather than avoiding them. It gives someone the courage to speak up in a high-stakes meeting. It allows people to stay clear and steady instead instead of reactive under pressure.
Grounded confidence comes from four key elements:
Who You Are: Clarity on values, strengths, and how you lead
Purpose: A clear sense of what matters and why
Community: Relationships that support, nourish, and challenge you
Nervous System: Neuroscience-backed tools to stay steady under pressure
These elements work together to create a powerful foundation - and all four are needed.
Who you are is the bedrock. You have to know your values, strengths, and identity to know how you want to show up in the world and lead. It's the anchor to everything else.
Purpose drives courage. It lets you create impact and stay aligned to who you are in the face of challenges.
What's more, purpose is connected to retention, engagement, improved relationships, resiliency, impact, and results. Purpose driven leaders are twice as likely to intend to stay with their company and nine times more likely to be engaged. Nine times! (Source: DDI)
Community gives you the support needed to take action. It challenges you and pushes you to grow. It creates belonging.
We're human. We're not meant to do this alone.
Nervous system is the new frontier - and a powerful one. Nervous system regulation decreases anxiety in the moments that matter most. It allows you to stay aligned to your values and show up as an effective leader in tough situations.
Because when people become ungrounded internally, it impacts how they think, speak, listen, and lead externally. We've all been in situations where we said something we regret because we've gotten ungrounded!
Being grounded in your nervous system also drives power and presence in the best way possible. I'm convinced that nervous system is the key to executive presence that no one is talking about.
Grounded confidence. It's all the good things 😀
