The secret to get more of what you want

A few weeks ago, I went to a music circle with a bunch of people I didn't really know.

On the way out, I was chatting with a woman and happened to mention that I'd had a goal of doing an open mic night for YEARS and needed to just get up the courage and DO IT.

When I said those words, she stopped dead in her tracks in the middle of the street.

"Oh my gosh - I'm thinking about putting together an open mic at my house!"

Mind blown 🤯

In that moment, I was reminded of an exceedingly important lesson:

When you tell people what you want, it will lead to more of what you want.

This goes for EVERYTHING in your life.

When you tell people what you want in your career, they can be on the lookout for development opportunities for you.

When you talk about the places you want to travel, you'll get awesome tips about those locations...and maybe even a travel partner who wants to accompany you!

When you talk about hobbies you're interested in pursuing, you may just end up at a painting class or pickleball group you never knew existed.

The opposite is also true -- when you don't tell people what you want, they can't help you get there.

So take a chance and share what you really want - and see what surprises show up 😀
